A fine example of Meiji-period Japanese cloisonné globular koro (incense burner) worked in silver wire features a luminous celadon green ground, delicately adorned with exquisite polychrome enamel work. One side showcases a highly detailed bird perched among blossoming plum branches, symbolizing renewal and endurance. The reverse displays two swallows in flight above small wildflowers, enhancing the sense of grace and seasonal harmony.

The domed lid is capped with a finely cast bronze chrysanthemum finial and further embellished with butterflies—delicate symbols of transformation and fleeting beauty. The piece is executed in the musen-jippo (wireless cloisonné) technique, allowing for soft gradations and painterly expression, and it retains a smooth, high-gloss surface.

This koro exemplifies the Japanese aesthetic of harmony with nature and showcases the technical mastery and refined artistry associated with cloisonné of the Meiji era.
