A finely proportioned Japanese cloisonné enamel koro and cover of rounded form, worked in silver wire on a soft yellow ground. The body and domed cover are richly decorated with scrolling borders enclosing panels of flowering plants and exotic birds, rendered in restrained enamels characteristic of Kyoto workmanship of the late Meiji period.

The rims are mounted in copper-gilt, and the cover is surmounted by a faceted bronze finial. The decorative scheme, palette, and refinement of the wirework closely recall the aesthetic associated with the Kyoto school and works produced in the manner of Namikawa Yasuyuki.

A refined late 19th-century example of Japanese cloisonné intended for use as an incense burner (kōro), combining utility with decorative elegance.

Size: Height 8.5 cm; Width 8.5 cm; Mouth diameter 6.5 cm; Foot diameter 3.5 cm.

Condition: Good antique condition with expected age-related surface wear, minor enamel rubbing, and light patina to the metal mounts. No restoration observed.
