Finely decorated in predominantly gilt enamels with a powerful three-clawed dragon coiled in pursuit of a tama (sacred jewel), the creature’s form rendered with remarkable movement and precision. The design is set against a rich brown flambé-style ground that enhances the luminosity of the gilt work.
Signed on the reverse Kinkōzan within a feather-edged cartouche.
