Of elegant square-section baluster form, the pair finely worked in silver wire and decorated in richly coloured enamels on a soft turquoise-green ground. Each vase is animated by a strutting rooster, rendered with careful tonal shading to the plumage, set amid bamboo stalks and chrysanthemum blooms — symbols of resilience, longevity, and prosperity in Japanese art.
The surrounding floral motifs include chrysanthemum heads and seasonal grasses.Bamboo is clearly depicted in the background, reinforcing the autumnal theme.
The vases are finished with shakudō-mounted rims, and retain their original fitted wooden stands.
Condition:
Excellent overall condition. No cracks, losses, or restorations observed. Enamels are bright and well preserved, with strong surface gloss.
Height: 12 cm (each)
