Of cylindrical form with short waisted neck and ring foot, finely decorated in enamels and gilt with two rectangular panels; one enclosing a lively scene of elegant figures and children strolling through a village beneath autumnal trees with mountains beyond, the other depicting chrysanthemums, irises and peonies by a bamboo fence with a bird in flight above. The cobalt-blue ground richly gilt with scrolling foliage, the foot with a band of geometric hanabishi. Bearing the impressed and gilt seals of the Kinkozan workshop.
Height: 10.5cm (4⅛in)
Overall in very good condition . Professional restoration to the mouth/rim, with associated retouching to the gilt foliate ornament on the cobalt-blue neck, the colour and pattern well matched; the intervention is visible on close inspection/raking light, as a slight difference in the sheen and definition of the gilt. No other faults observed.
