Each of elongated ovoid form with a slightly flared neck and domed foot, worked in fine silver wire and soft-shaded enamels of exceptional delicacy. The front panels are decorated with quail beneath flowering lilies on a luminous turquoise-blue ground, while the reverse shows delicate songbirds perched on grapevines, set against a soft rose-pink ground. The surrounding areas are reserved with stylised clouds and floral scrolls on a pale icy blue field, providing elegant contrast to the colour-saturated scenes. The rims and feet with geometric and floral borders in rich burgundy, black, and silver tones.
Height: 30.5 cm
Condition: Excellent overall condition, with only very minor surface wear consistent with age.
An exquisite pair, combining restrained form with lyrical composition, clearly reflecting the influence and aesthetic of Namikawa Sōsuke.
