Of oval form, the gently domed cover decorated with a finely rendered bird preening upon a branch beneath delicate blossoms, reserved against a soft ivory-toned ground. The sides are worked in subdued tones of grey, pale blue, and muted iron-red, forming scrolling karakusa and stylised floral motifs in elegant, restrained cloisonné.

The palette is notably quiet and sophisticated, characteristic of the Kyoto aesthetic, favouring subtle harmony over brilliance. The thin wirework, soft enamels, and refined drawing of the bird closely relate to the manner and decorative language associated with the studio of Namikawa Yasuyuki, where naturalistic subjects were rendered with painterly sensitivity.

Condition: In very good condition, no damage or restoration observed.
