An unusually delicate porcelain netsuke modelled as a curled sleeping cat, its body painted with russet-orange and gilt streaked patches over a soft cream glaze, the expressive eyes gently closed in repose, a red collar around its neck. The details of fur and facial expression are finely rendered in overglaze enamels, a hallmark of late Meiji Kutani artistry. Two himotoshi are visible on the underside.
