Large Japanese Cloisonné Enamel Vase with the Legend of Momotarō, Meiji Period
A rare baluster-form vase worked in silver wire and coloured enamels, depicting Momotarō (the Peach Boy) on his journey with the dog, monkey, and pheasant, against a soft sky-blue ground. The reverse shows waves, birds in flight, and further narrative details. Shakudō-mounted rims.
Condition: Very good; minor hairlines to mouth and lower section, barely visible.
