Of octagonal form, the cover finely painted with a continuous landscape scene depicting figures walking along a mountain path towards temple buildings, rendered in delicate polychrome enamels and soft gilt against a cream ground. The sides are decorated with alternating floral and geometric panels, richly detailed with gilt and coloured enamels.
The interior of the cover and the base are finely finished with stylised floral sprays, the base bearing the gilt Senzan signature.
A finely worked example of late Meiji Satsuma ware, displaying refined brushwork, subtle shading, and harmonious composition.
Dimensions: approx. 8 cm across
Condition: Very good overall condition, with light wear consistent with age. No restoration or cracks observed.
