Of ovoid form with a short, slightly everted neck, the vase is finely worked in silver wire cloisonné enamels on a luminous metallic blue ground. The surface is decorated with two large butterflies shown in flight, their wings delicately shaded in tones of gold, ochre, and brown, with finely detailed eye markings. Scattered cherry blossom petals drift across the ground, adding a sense of movement and seasonal atmosphere.
The composition is balanced yet lively, with careful attention to the naturalistic rendering of the insects and subtle tonal gradation within the enamels. The vase is finished with a gilt-decorated footrim.
Height: 14 cm
Condition: Good condition overall, with minor wear consistent with age.
