A Fine Pair of Japanese Satsuma Earthenware Vases, Signed Seizan, Meiji Period

Of compressed ovoid form rising to a short waisted neck and gently flared rim, each vase richly decorated in dense gilt and polychrome enamels.
The bodies are finely painted with lobed reserves depicting elegant bijin and courtly figures in interior and garden settings, reserved against an elaborate kinrande ground of scrolling brocade and geometric textile patterns. Surrounding panels display auspicious treasures (takaramono), florals, and symbolic motifs including carp, textiles, and ritual objects, all heightened with extensive gilding in fine relief.
The shoulder is enriched with overlapping brocade cartouches and textile designs, while the neck features geometric and floral ornament beneath a gilt band. The foot is encircled by stylised floral decoration.
The bases bear a black rectangular reserve with gilt characters reading Seizan.

Very good antique condition.
No cracks, restoration, or significant damage observed.
