Each vase of elegant ovoid form rising from a short circular foot to a gently flared neck, the bodies worked in fine silver wire cloisonné and decorated with flowering irises in shades of lavender and deep violet, with pale yellow centres, set among long, slender green leaves. The flowers are reserved against a rich deep cobalt-blue ground, creating a striking contrast and a strong sense of vertical movement.
The composition is carefully balanced across the pair, with slight variations in the placement of blooms and foliage, characteristic of high-quality Meiji-period work.
Height: 20 cm
Condition:
Good overall condition. Minor surface wear consistent with age. No significant losses or restorations observed.
