Of ovoid form with rounded shoulders, surmounted by a domed cover with loop handle, finely painted in underglaze cobalt blue, iron-red, polychrome enamels and gilt on a white porcelain ground.
The body is decorated with a luxuriant continuous arrangement of flowering plants, including chrysanthemums and blossoming prunus, interspersed with grasses and foliage, with birds and butterflies among the branches. A strongly delineated cobalt-blue flowering branch sweeps around the upper body, balancing the densely worked floral decoration below, the composition enriched throughout with finely applied gilt details.
The shoulder and cover are encircled by a formal petal-shaped border in cobalt blue, iron-red and gilt, repeated above the foot in a broader ornamental band of floral roundels and scrolling gilt foliage. The cover is similarly decorated with flowering prunus and finished with a cobalt-blue loop handle heightened in gilt.
The underside with an iron-red mark.
Height: 15 cm.
Condition: Excellent overall condition. No chips, cracks or restoration observed.
