A Fine Cloisonné Enamel Vase by the Ando Jubei Company

Taishō Period

Of elegant baluster form, the vase is worked in a soft peach-toned musen enamel, the body displaying a refined wireless technique characteristic of the Ando workshop. A finely rendered temple rises above a dense forest, the trees and architectural details illuminated in vibrant tones of red and yellow beneath a slender silver crescent moon.

Subtle touches of silver wire articulate the pagoda and foreground elements, creating a delicate contrast against the smooth, mist-like enamel ground. The rims are mounted in age-darkened silver, lending further depth to the composition.

The base bears the seal of the Ando Company, confirming production by this celebrated Nagoya workshop, renowned for its mastery of wireless enamelling during the late Meiji and Taishō eras.
